Stage and Set Design / Scenography

The course of studies for the attainment of an Academic Diploma in Visual Arts and Disciplines of Show Business, with major in Stage and Set Design, aims at training qualified professional figures with competence in the techniques and methodologies of design, means of expression and practices for the realization of show business productions (Theatre, Film, Television).

Graduates must:

  • have adequate training in a) the technical-operational field, ensuring mastery of traditional and contemporary technical and technological instruments pertinent to stage animation b) the historical-critical field, enabling adequate cultural background implementation into accurate interpretation of stage direction;
  • possess appropriate methodological and critical tools for the acquisition of knowledge which enables the implementation of projects and installations related to the experimentation of new artistic - visual languages;
  • be able to effectively use at least one European language besides their mother tongue, in their main field of competence as well as in the exchange of general information;
  • possess adequate skills and tools for communication and information management, in particular with the IT tools.

Graduates qualify to work in Theatre, Television and Film as:

  • Stage and Set Designer or Technician
  • Light Designer
  • Costume Designer for Theatre and Film
  • Technician of computerized systems for the stage and the set
